Our Purpose & Origination

Ges Anderson

I hope you found the podcast interesting and you will be wondering why a woman will be presenting podcast’s specifically for men?

Addressing men’s issues was the original idea of Gerard Anderson, ‘Ges’, my partner, who passed away on 28th November 2023.

Ges had a life-long interest and in-depth knowledge of men’s issues and this year he wanted men to have a platform for open discussion and debate, hence the podcast.

Ges was diagnosed with prostate cancer over a decade ago but he never wanted, or was, defined by it.

For Ges, he was first and foremost an artist.

Apart from his plans this year to produce a podcast he aimed to raise his artistic profile by auctioning his latest paintings as NFT’s.

Ges passed away suddenly due to a particularly aggressive form of prostate cancer on 28th November 2023.

Both the podcast and the auction will go ahead.

To fulfil his ambition and my promise to him, is the reason why I am presenting this podcast.

The funds raised from the auction, which will take next year, will be donated in his memory to prostate cancer research, specifically, Stage 4 Cancer Research, and the Glasgow Maggie’s Centre, who supports both those with a cancer diagnosis and their families – both Ges and I will be eternally grateful for all their help.

So, in memory of Ges, who I know would always prefer to be known as the extremely, talented, unique, artist. Each podcast will feature a different painting at the end of the podcast.

Ges, was a great artist…… but for me, he was by far, a greater, wonderful man, whom I had the privilege to share my life with.
